Guided by Colonel David Fivecoat’s and his team’s experiences—both in combat and nearly a decade in the corporate world—TFCG brings a unique perspective to individual and organizational growth. DAVID FIVECOAT
David Fivecoat is a leader, trainer, and coach with decades of experience operating in complex environments. Over his twenty-four-year career as a U.S. Army infantry officer, Colonel Fivecoat held a wide range of leadership roles and led soldiers during contingency operations in Kosovo and Bosnia, three combat tours in Iraq, and a combat tour in Afghanistan as a battalion commander—totaling over 41 months in combat. He culminated his military service by overseeing the gender integration of the U.S. Army’s Ranger School.
David earned a Bachelor of Science in Military History from the United States Military Academy, a Master of Military Arts and Science from the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College, and a Master in National Security Strategy from the National War College. He was the lead writer for Field Manual 3-24.2: Tactics in Counterinsurgency and has published numerous articles on leadership and military strategy.
His military decorations include the Valorous Unit Award, four Bronze Star Medals, the Army Commendation Medal with V Device, the Ranger Tab, the Master Parachutist Badge, and the Combat Infantryman’s Badge. He is also a Distinguished Member of the Airborne and Ranger Training Brigade.
After retiring from the Army, David founded The Fivecoat Consulting Group, which provides executive coaching, keynote speaking, and business consulting. He enjoys working with high-performing individuals and organizations across industries—from oil and gas to agribusiness—who are committed to growing their leadership. He lives in Columbus, Georgia, with his daughter, and in his free time, enjoys cycling and skiing.
